The form of this bottle-sprinkler resembles those of comparables found in Ghazna, Sistan, Afrasiyab and Rayy although another bottle of similar form found in Egypt now in the Coptic Museum, Cairo, was ascribed to Egypt (see Allan 1996, pp.120-1). It is unusual for such pieces to be inscribed and so it is possible that the text was added at a later date.
