W
hile street art style has been an iconic craze in the Western contemporary art scene, Hong Kong does not fall behind with its own gems. Hong Kong-based street artist Lousy is no stranger to the local audience. His iconic Kissface can be spotted all over the city as he continues to leave his mark in shaping Hong Kong’s urban landscape. Lousy’s electric style is inspired by the Lucerne cave paintings and influenced by the spontaneous energy emanated from the works of Jean Cocteau. Electric Ladyland depicts female bodies with wavy, rhythmic lines plaster over a vibrant neon pink. The piece exudes liberation, perfectly fitting into the present sale’s context in celebrating women and embracing one’s sensuality, sexuality and physical form.
