In 1969, David Hockney asked Mo McDermott, then a young decorator working in London, to redecorate his Notting Hill flat. During the process, McDermott installed several wooden cut-out trees which he had designed and made himself - see fig. 1. The present lot relates to this series, which was written about and illustrated by House & Garden in May 1969.
