This rare openwork incense burner, known as a xunqiu, appears in Tang silver, possibly derived from Sassanian prototypes. The skilful technique on the current incense burner appears to relate to the high quality craftsmanship on late Ming handwarmers, notably those created by Zhang Mingqi and Wang Fengjiang, both from Jiaxing, Zhejiang.
