The Balenciaga x Adidas Collab Is Here Summer 2022

Designer collaborations seem to be everywhere you look right now, with the latest instalment being the Balenciaga x Adidas collab that has just dropped.

Usually, we’re teased with designer collaborations months in advance and have to set reminders for the drop date, not this one however.

On Sunday, May 22, Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia took over the New York Stock Exchange trading floor to debut the iconic brands resort 2023 collection, which included Balenciaga’s collaboration with Adidas Originals, and it was made available to shop instantly on Balenciaga’s website.

The Balenciaga runway show included a whole host of the biggest names including Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Megan Thee Stallion, Offset, Frank Ocean and Chloë Sevigny, and many others.

The collection combines Adidas’s classic stripe motifs and logo with Balenciaga’s oversize and streetwear aesthetic.

Adidas’ signature trefoil emblem is kept for the logo, and the “adidas” wording being simply replaced with “Balenciaga.”

The 33-piece collection includes everything from tracksuits, logo t-shirts dresses, on trend baseball caps, trainers to leather jackets.

The chunky Adidas Triple S trainers that did the rounds back in March are sure to be a bestseller, we recommend you add straight to your basket if you’d like you get your hands on a pair of these.

Warning: the collection does not come cheap! Prices start at £150 for a pair of logo socks and go up to £4,090 for the most expensive piece – the hooded leather jacket.

Given the fact that the pieces look so identical to the regular adidas line we have to question if collab pieces are worth the hefty price tag, but this hasn’t seemed to deter people with many of the pieces already selling out!
